Puppy Workshop

Puppy Workshop is a comprehensive 2-hour in-home training session designed to teach your puppy proper manners at home. Puppies can be mischievous little monsters who will gladly give you their whole heart as they joyously destroy your home. These behaviors can be avoided however, without taking one bit of joy and glee away from your dog's puppy hood.

Puppy Workshop teaches manners to dogs as young as 9 weeks old up to 5 months old. The session starts with an “environmental” assessment of your home and set-up at which point we’ll make specific recommendations based on many years of working with young puppies.

We will also address proper house breaking techniques, teach you how to redirect destructive chewing, introduce name recognition and basic recall, and discuss techniques to avoid behaviors such as separation anxiety, barking and nipping. Finally, we will cover basic handling, leash etiquette, socialization and provide an introduction to basic obedience commands such as Sit, Down, Wait, Come and Leave It. Puppy Workshop truly establishes the groundwork for a productive long-term relationship with you, your pup, and all members of your household.

Basic Obedience

Basic Obedience is our most popular and successful program. During Basic Obedience, an expert trainer will teach you how to train your dog beginning in your dog's home environment free of distractions before progressing to a public setting where we work to make sure that your dog has the same level of focus and attention that he/she has at home. The majority of this training is done on-leash. At the end of this phase your dog will know Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, Down, Off, Leave it, and Place.

Your dog will follow all of the basic obedience commands amidst distractions and without food bribes. When in heel (walk next to me) your dog will happily pay attention to which directions you choose to walk and stay with you. During Basic Obedience training you will never hit or yell at your dog. All corrections are done (sparingly) and copious amounts of praise and love will be used to reinforce desired behavior. A dog must be at least four months old to start this phase of training.

Advanced Obedience

Advanced Obedience is for clients that have successfully completed our Basic Obedience course and are ready to take their dog to the next level.
The result of Advanced Obedience training is off-leash reliability. Advanced lessons are conducted in distracting environments to ensure focus and control in all situations.

Performance Plus! Clicker Training

Performance Plus! Clicker Training is an adjunct to our Basic Obedience course that introduces you and your dog to the principles of clicker training. Progress in this course is not measured by how many tricks your dog picks up throughout the curriculum, but by how well you learn and apply the principles behind clicker training. The by-product should be a successful and rewarding training session with your dog. In the end, rather than simply having a dog with a few new tricks, you will have a new model for continued behavior training.
